Air taxis, movie-making drones and the technology helping farmers and emergency crews will take centre stage on the Gold Coast in four weeks, when Global Drone Show 2026 arrives at Cbus Super Stadium.
The three-day event, beginning Wednesday 11 November, will bring together 200 global brands, 120 live demonstration sessions and a speaker line-up spanning business, entertainment, defence and aviation.
Visitors can watch drones in action on the stadium field in the Aviation Australia Drone Zone, explore the international expo and hear how the technology is changing everything from food production to the way we watch sport.
Among the headline names are Shark Tank investor Steve Baxter, Team Global Express Group Executive Chair Christine Holgate and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko.
Baxter’s Beaten Zone Venture Partners will also present Future Invest, where Australian founders pitch their technology to investors and industry leaders.
For film and sport fans, a panel led by Baz Luhrmann’s Bazmark Productions will explore how drones have changed what audiences see on screen. Contributors from Supercars, Dreamworld and Aura Drone Shows will discuss their use in sports coverage, theme parks and live entertainment.
Global Drone Show CEO Leanne St George said the event would give visitors a close-up look at technology already being put to work.
“People see drones capturing incredible sporting moments or lighting up the sky, but there is much more happening behind the scenes,” Ms St George said.
“They are helping farmers manage livestock, supporting search and rescue crews and giving filmmakers shots that once would have been difficult or expensive to capture. This is a chance to see that technology in action and meet the people developing it.”
The program will also examine the future of air taxis and deliveries, how drones could help protect Brisbane 2032 venues, and their role in responding to fires and floods, protecting wildlife and inspecting mines and construction sites.
The CommBank Agribusiness Congress will focus on practical farming applications, including crop monitoring, targeted spraying and livestock and water management.
On Friday 13 November, Future Careers Day, presented by Griffith University in partnership with Defence Kidz, will offer registered school groups hands-on activities, flight simulation and opportunities to meet people working in the industry.
“We want students to see where their interest in technology could take them, and businesses to discover ideas they can use today,” Ms St George said.
General admission provides access to the Expo and Drone Zone. Congress sessions and keynote luncheons require separate tickets.
